Skegness Pier
The Skegness pier measures 118 meters long. It overlooks the beach and there are numerous attractions along. They are among others restaurants, pubs, ice cream parlors, massage parlor or trampoline. There is also a large roofed amusement park with a bowling alley, a laser arena and pools with balls and slides for children. A casino is also waiting for adults.
The pier was built in 1881 and was 562 meters long at the time. It was then the fourth longest facility of its kind in all of England. It had the shape of the letter T and numerous shelters, and at its top was a concert hall. It was partially destroyed by floods and storms in the 1950s and 1960s, followed by a fire in the 1980s. It has never been rebuilt in its original form.
