Dorich House Museum
Dorich House is a former workshop of the Russian sculptor Dora Gordine and her husband Richard Hare, a researcher of Russian art and literature, now transformed into a museum. It is located on three floors. On the ground floor and first floor there is a plaster studio, modeling studio and gallery - they are devoted to the creation and exhibition of Gordine's works. Above them is a modest apartment in which the couple lived. The museum has the world's largest collection of Gordine's works.
The building in which the museum is located has been classified as a Class II monument. It was built in 1936 according to the Gordine design. This is a unique example of a modern studio created by the artist himself. After Gordine's death in 1991, the house was taken over and renovated by Kingston University and is now open to the public as a fully accredited museum. The facility also acts as an international center promoting and supporting creative women.
