Design Museum
Design Museum is a museum dedicated to contemporary design, both architectural and industrial, as well as associated with fashion and graphics. The top floor houses a permanent exhibition entirely devoted to contemporary design and architecture. The first floor is occupied by an extensive library, while on the ground floor there is the largest gallery with temporary exhibitions. The museum also has a restaurant and a shop
The Design Museum was founded in 1989 by Terence Cornan, a London interior designer and restaurateur. Originally it was located in a building that in the 1940s served as a banana warehouse. It was then adapted for the needs of the building, and the "Head of Invention" was set up between it and the River Thames. In 2016, the facility was moved to a larger building that previously housed the headquarters of the Commonwealth Institute.
