Princess Diana Memorial Fountain
Princess Diana Memorial Fountain is a memorial fountain built in memory of the tragically deceased Princess Diana. It consists of 545 elements cut from Cornish granite, which together form a stream bed with a closed, oval shape. It is about 50 meters long and 80 meters wide, and the riverbed itself is quite shallow and measures 3 to 6 meters wide. Both inside and outside there is a turf that you can climb on and spread out a blanket on.
The fountain was designed by American artist Kathryn Gustafson, who wanted to commemorate Diana. The object is to symbolize the life of the deceased princess and reflect its advantages, including above all openness to others. The official opening of the monument took place on May 6, 2004 in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and the sons of Diana, princes William and Harry.
