Harrods
Harrods is a luxury department store in the Knightsbridge district. The 7-story building has over 300 departments. When choosing to Harrods for shopping, remember about the right outfit, because a specific dress code applies here (shorts or flip-flops are not welcome).
The creator of the brand was Charles Henry Harrods, who opened a small grocery store in the 1840s. His son continued his father's work and by the 1980s he managed to create a prosperous company. In 1898, the Harrods store launched the first escalator in Great Britain. The building that currently houses Harrods dates from 1905.
This exclusive gallery does not lack the latest collections of top designers, expensive perfumes or exclusive watches and jewelry. You can even buy gold bars. The youngest will be delighted to visit the Disney store. The building's facade lighting is also an attraction. It consists of about 12,000 light bulbs, almost 300 of which must be replaced each day.
