One New Change
One New Change is a shopping center and office building located in City of London, with a total area of 52,000 m2. The building was designed by Jean Nouvel in a neomodernist style with a characteristic glass facade. The official opening took place on October 28, 2010.
The center was replaced by a building that served the Bank of England. After demolishing it in 2007, the construction of a six-storey center, which cost £ 500 million, began. There are about 60 shops and restaurants in it, including Topshop, Next, Hugo Boss, Pandora, Calvin Klein. On the roof there is a terrace with a restaurant and cafe, from which you can admire the panorama of London.
A modern shopping center is adjacent to the cathedral of St. Paweł, which was met with critics during the construction planning, including on the part of Charles, Prince of Wales. Now, however, it can be said that the new, original architecture goes well with the historic building and does not diminish its attractiveness and dignity.
