Battersea Park Children's Zoo

Battersea Park Children's Zoo is a venture of the Heap family, which in 2003 took over the endangered zoo. Having experience in running wildlife parks, they transformed Battersea Park into a recreation and educational center, whose offer is primarily targeted at the youngest recipients. The zoo, apart from animals, has its own restaurant, an extensive, well-equipped playground and a wide package of educational activities.

The inhabitants of Battersea Park Children's Zoo are ponies, several species of monkeys, numerous rodents, rabbits, raccoons, otters, birds and reptiles, as well as New Zealand Kunekune pigs and kangaroos. All animals are tame and friendly, so that even small children can come in close contact with them. The zoo runs ecological education and encourages the adoption of animals.

The history of Battersea Park dates back to the mid XIX century, when a public park was established in the area of wet meadows and arable fields, which was used for recreation and sports. 100 years later, a zoo was created in the park, which is currently managed by the Heap family.
