The Fusilier Museum is located in the Tower of London, which houses the main staff of the 7th Infantry Regiment, called Royal Fusiliers. The collections present the history of the individual from its inception to the present day. The collected collection includes, among others, 12 Victoria Crosses won by the Regiment, as well as a uniform and bearskin belonging to King George V, who was the colonel of the Regiment.
The Royal Fusilier Regiment was founded on June 20, 1685 by order of King James II. The purpose of the unit was to guard weapons in the Tower of London. At that time, the City of London Regiment branch was called. In 1751 it was transformed into the 7th Infantry Regiment and as such was sent to fight in Belgium and Spain and during the American Revolutionary War. Today, the garrison duties of the Royal Fusiliers are carried out by guards called Yeomans and a rota consisting of three regiments of the London District.
