London Dungeon
The London Dungeon is a museum of horror. It recreates some bloody and brutal events of London's history in a very realistic way. Initially it was a museum of wax figures, now it reaches for an interactive form of communication and uses extensive scenery, acting and special effects.
The London Dungeon was opened in 1976 on Tooley Street, near Waterloo tube station. The attraction has been operating right next to the London Eye since 2013. Visiting the museum you can travel in time and witness the crimes of Kuba Ripper and Sweeney Todd, watch scenes taking place during the plague epidemic and the so-called Gunpowder Plot. The actors encourage active sightseeing and draw the audience to the scenes played, including before a nineteenth-century court. By participating in the attraction called Drop Dead (this is a rapid fall from a height), you can feel on your own skin how people sentenced to death felt by hanging.
