Seven Dials
Seven Dials is a small intersection of seven narrow streets with nearly one hundred shops and over ninety restaurants, bars and cafes. The Crown Pub, founded in 1833, is still operating on one of the streets. You can drink traditional English ale in it, and the decor has remained almost unchanged since the 19th century. The Cambridge Theater, founded in the 1920s, is also nearby.
Cultural events are regularly organized at Seven Dials. Concerts are played here, and artistic workshops are organized to celebrate the holidays. Fashion festivals and picnics combined with a festival of cuisines from around the world took place here.
The history of Sevel Dials dates back to the second half of the 17th century. The construction of streets and the square was initiated by Thomas Neale, MP and entrepreneur. Contrary to his hopes, the area not only did not attract wealthy investors, but after a few decades it turned into slums. Seven Dials became fashionable and popular only in the 20th century.
