Granary Square

Granary Square is a square that is part of King's Cross Central, revitalized in 2012. Its main attraction is the illuminated fountain, consisting of nearly 1,100 separate water jets. Around the square there are several restaurants, bars and cafes, mostly with external sections. Various cultural events are regularly organized on the square, including family festivals, concerts and fashion shows. There is also a street market with cuisine from around the world.

During the Victorian era unloading and loading of barges that sailed on the nearby canal took place in Granary Square. A reference to this element of history can be found in the ornaments on the banks of the fountain currently standing in the square. In turn, the wide stairs leading from the square to the bank of the canal in the summer season are padded with a special upholstery and act as an urban mini-beach.
