Tate Liverpool
Tate Liverpool is an art gallery and museum in Liverpool. Together with Tate St Ives, Tate Britain and Tate Modern, it is part of the main gallery of Tate in London. The collection includes the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and a collection of international contemporary art. Temporary exhibitions are also organized regularly. You can see the works of such artists here, including Auguste Rodin, Pierre Bonnard, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondrian.
The gallery was opened in 1988 and is located in a converted warehouse in historic Albert Dock on Liverpool's waterfront. In 1988, the building underwent a major renovation to create additional exhibition space. In 2007, the foyer area was further redesigned by Arca architects, not only to give it a more modern look, but also to improve visitor service.
Until 2003, Tate Liverpool was the largest gallery of modern and contemporary art in Great Britain outside London.
