Museum of Liverpool
The collection of the Liverpool Museum is divided into four main themes: Grand Harbor, Global City, People's Republic of China and Wonderland. On the ground floor, the exhibitions show the urban and technological evolution of the city as well as the industrial revolution and changes in the British Empire. The exhibitions on the second floor focus on the social history of the city from neolithic settlements to the present day and the identity of its inhabitants.
The museum also has a children's section. Little Liverpool is a gallery for children under six. History Detectives is an interactive center for archeology and history. There is also a room for 180 people for audiovisual speeches and conference rooms.
The Liverpool Museum is the world's first national museum dedicated to the history of a regional city. It opened in 2011 in a new, purpose-built building on the Isle of Mann.
