Built in 1896, the palm house was funded by the local millionaire Henry Yates Thompson. It is a circular building that looks like a dome. It was built of a bent iron structure filled with glass. Statues of great explorers and scientists were placed in the corners. Inside, you can admire the collection of tropical plants from Africa, Asia and Central America.
