Paul McCartney's Childhood Home
The family home of Paul McCartney, known as 20 Forthlin Road, is now part of the National Trust. It was opened to the public, as was the home of another of the Beatels, John Lennon. This is one of the few houses where McCartney spent his childhood and youth, referred to as "the birthplace of the Beatels." It was here that their first songs were created and the band's first rehearsals were organized.
McCartney's family moved into the house in 1955 when he was a high school student. It was here that his younger brother, a member of The Scaffold, was born - their first rehearsals also took place here.
Unlike John Lennon's house, there is no official plaque on 20 Forthlin Road that Paul McCartney, known as the Blue Plaque, lived here. According to the criteria, it is awarded when 20 years have passed since the death of a given person or 100 years have passed since her birth.
