The Tank Museum
Bovington Tank Museum is a military museum dedicated to armored weapons. There is a collection of nearly 300 armored vehicles from 26 countries around the world, making it the third largest collection of this type in the world. It also houses the largest collection of tanks. The most important exhibits are Tiger I and Mark I.
In the museum you can not only see the exhibits, but also trace the history of the creation and development of armored vehicles, in particular tanks. This is mainly due to the exhibition at The Tank Story Hall, on which 35 tanks were placed - from the oldest from 1915, through the next decades of the 20th century, to the newest ones.
In 1916, a training center for future soldiers of armored weapons was established here. After the end of World War I, the vehicles were kept in the best condition. The same was done after World War II. In 1947 a museum was opened here.
