The Alnwick Garden

The Alnwick Garden is a large garden complex outside Alnwick Castle. In their central part there is a cascade fountain, and individual parts of the garden are divided thematically. There are, among others Cherry Orchard and Serpentine Garden. What attracts the most attention is the fenced Poison Garden, which can only be visited with guides. It is home to dangerous, poisonous and hallucinogenic plants, such as golden eel, crow's eye or toadstools.

The garden also includes the Treehouse Restaurant, built on a vast treehouse-shaped platform. Cafes and restaurants can also be found in the glass pavilion. In the garden, a Forgotten Garden was built in a slightly fairy-tale style, with a golf course.

Alnwick Castle, with the garden complex next to it, played the role of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. All seven parts were shot here.
