Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle is the second largest, still inhabited castle in Great Britain. It belongs to the Percy family and is almost fully open to the public. In addition to richly decorated interiors, you can see an exhibition of replicas of carriages that were and are used by the owners of the property. There are also archeological exhibitions, a library and an armory. Knightly fight shows and concerts are often organized. The castle is surrounded by gardens, which are also open to visitors.
The history of the creation of the castle dates back to the 11th century, but only after the acquisition of the property by the first Lord Percy in the 14th century, the building began to gain its present character. You can still see elements of the reconstruction made by him, including two towers and the original fourteenth-century gate.
Numerous films were shot in the castle, including all parts of Harry Potter in which he served as Hogwarts, i.e. the School of Magic and Wizardry.
