Northumberland Coast

The Northumberland Coast is close to 65 km of coast in north-east England, classified as "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" (AONB). There are sandy beaches, dunes, high cliffs and individual islets. There are many walking and cycling routes here. You can also ride a horse and observe the stars, birds, seals and dolphins. Among water sports you can go coaststeering, kitesurfing, as well as rent kayaks or a boat.

The ruins of several Norman castles are open to the public on the Northumberland Coast. These are Warkworth Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and Lindisfarne Castl. Bamburgh Castle is one of those still inhabited. Alnwick Castle is also nearby, where Harry Potter movies were shot.

Lovers of wildlife can go to the Farne Islands. There are especially large bird colonies. On Coquet Island, due to the presence of very rare pink terns, a strictly protected reserve was created.
