The Swedish Natural History Museum, one of the two major in the country. The permanent exhibitions such as "Evolution", "Polar Regions" and "Treasures of the Earth's Interiors" as well as temporary exhibitions are available for viewing. In the center is also Cosmonova, IMAX cinema, which is also Sweden's largest planetarium.
The museum was founded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1819. The collection itself was a gift to the Academy since its inception in the 17th century. The construction of the museum was completed only in 1961, and the project was designed by architect Axel Anderberg. Since 2014 this is the largest museum building in Sweden.
One of the interesting exhibits is the giant whale model that can be accessed. Interest is also a huge collection of minerals, meteorites and rocks, collected by the museum for over a hundred years.
