Royal Tobacco Factory

Local name: Real Fábrica de Tabacos

The Royal Cigar Factory, known from the Carmen opera, was established in 1728–1771 on the initiative of Sebastian van der Brocht. It is an example of an 18th century stone building and is the most important and largest industrial monument in Seville. The headquarters of the local University has been here since 1950.
