The Torre del Oro (Golden Tower) in Seville is a 36-meter structure built in the 13th century. It is in the register of Spanish monuments. Its name is associated with the glow that arises as a result of reflection of sunlight from the facade. It was discovered that this is due to a special mixture made of lime mortar and pressed straw. The tower was built to protect the main port of the city. Currently, you can see the exhibition of the Navy Museum.
