Plaza de la Paja is located in the historic center of the city, in the famous La Latina district. This historic market square is surrounded by Madrid's most important medieval arteries, as well as the treasures of Spanish architecture, including the 16th-century episcopal chapel or the Vargas Palace. Near the square there is also the garden of the Duke of England, which is one of the few examples of 18th-century Madrid aristocratic gardens.
