Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau in Barcelona is the work of the architect Lluís Domènech and Montanera, considered the pearl of Catalan modernism. The building of the former hospital was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today there is an exhibition space. Tourists can see the exhibition on the history of medicine.
A garden has been made available to visitors, from which the external shape of the building can be clearly seen. The exhibition space of the Sant Salvador Pavilion is an interesting journey through the history of medicine in Barcelona, from the first hospital in Raval, which was established at the beginning of the 15th century to modern times.
The cornerstone of the hospital of St. Paweł was located at the beginning of the 20th century, the sponsor of the construction was banker Pau Gil. The hospital started its activity in 1930. In 2009 it was moved to a modern complex in another part of the city. Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau has been transformed into an exhibition space.
