Church of the Hospital of Santa Cruz and Santa Pau

Església de l'hospital de la Santa Creu and Santa Pau is a modernist church that is part of the large hospital complex of St. Paweł inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Interesting monuments include: an alabaster cross decorated with a mosaic by Labart and Maragliano, and sculptures by Gargallo and Eusebio Arnaua.
The 17th and 18th century paintings and stained glass windows in the apse are also noteworthy. The church was designed by Lluis Domenech and Montaner and his son Pere Domenech. The cornerstone of the temple was laid in 1923.
St. Hospital Paweł is the largest monument of modernist architecture in Catalonia. Is decorated, among others numerous iconographic motifs. Its construction was possible thanks to the donation of the banker Paua Gil. Many artists collaborated in creating the project, including the sculptor Pablo Emilio Gargallo Catalán.
