Rambla dels Estudio is one of the most distant from the sea section of the famous Rambla promenade. It took its name from the Estudio General or university located here. It is a commercial promenade with souvenir stands, as well as small pet shops.
Rambla dels Estudio boasts several valuable monuments. These include the Estudio General building, the Baroque Jesuit church and the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts from the end of the 19th century. It is an eclectic building that is considered to be the precursor of the subsequent Barcelona Art Nouveau.
The buildings at Rambla dels Estudio come mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. Some of them are decorated with mosaics and painting decorations in the form of colorful floral and geometric patterns.
