The Museum of Music in Barcelona (Museu de la Música de Barcelona) has gathered a very rich collection of instruments from around the world, including guitars from various eras and regions. You can also see exhibits related to famous personalities of the world of music, such as the Spanish composer and pianist Isaac Albéniz. Tourist curiosities are: antique organ hooks, phonographs and old voice recorders.
The museum organizes lectures and educational activities for various age groups, there is also a musical instrument renewal center and a library with thematic literature.
The museum is located on the second floor of L'Auditori de Barcelona. Of the 2,000 musical instruments, about 500 have been made available to the public. A substantial collection is the result of numerous donations, including from musicians from Catalonia.
