Sinagoga Major de Barcelona is one of the oldest synagogues in Europe. Based on the results of archaeological research, it was found that the synagogue probably dates back to the 4th century. It was erected on fragments of the Roman wall, to this day they are visible in one of the walls. The building was thoroughly restored in the 14th century.
