La Casa Comalat is a modernist building that was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Its characteristic feature are rich, colorful decorations and two facades, made in completely different styles. There is a small tower in the block, covered with glazed green ceramic tiles.
The main facade from the side of Avinguda Diagonal is symmetrical, it was made entirely of stone. Eye-catching wrought iron doors in a fancy shape. The facade from Còrsega Street is covered with ceramic tiles by Lluís Bru and Salelles. They are arranged between irregularly spaced galleries.
The author of the tenement house design was Salvador Valeri, in his work you can clearly see the inspiration of Antoni Gaudi. Casa Comalat was built on the orders of Joan Comalat Aleña.
