The Antoni Tàpies Foundation (Fundació Antoni Tàpies) has gathered a rich collection of the artist's works from various periods of his work. There are also works of other personalities from the world of art that Tapies collected, including works of Francisco de Goya, Picasso, Joan Miró, Max Ernst and examples of African, pre-Columbian and medieval art.
Tàpies founded the foundation in the 1980s. He wanted her to promote contemporary art. Today you can see interesting temporary exhibitions presenting different styles and genres. There is also a thematic library at the foundation.
The headquarters of the museum is located in a modernist building, built according to the design of the architect Lluís Domènech and Montanera. The facade is decorated with a sculpture entitled "Núvol i cadira" ("Cloud and chair") by Tàpies, which is the showcase of the foundation.
