Idrija City Museum

The facility is headquartered at Gewerkenegg Castle, where an exhibition dedicated to the 500-year history of mercury mining and the history of the city of Idrija is presented. The museum also manages the historic iron ore mine and foundry, where you can see one of the largest preserved steam engines in Europe.
