Šášov Castle
Local name: Šášovský hrad
The fortress was built in the first half. In the 13th century to protect the trade routes from Kremnica to Turiec and from the Danube to Zvolen crossing here. The castle was destroyed in 1677 during the Kuruc Uprising and was never rebuilt after that. Currently, it is a picturesque ruin, open to the public.
