Old Market Hall

The Old Market Hall (Old Riding Hall) is a building from the beginning of the 20th century standing on Namestie SNP. After perturbations associated with its renovation, it again fulfills its original functions. The monumental building with a classicizing facade is covered with a cast iron structure supporting the roof. Inside, there is a market, handicrafts shops and popular restaurants and bars.

The market hall was built in 1910. It is a building with a popular shape at that time. Behind the front of the building facade with a tympanum hides a huge space with market places. Looking up, you can see the original roof supporting structure.

The hall operated until 1960. Later, it changed hands and deteriorated. The costs of its renovation were so high that nobody wanted to pay them. It was only at the beginning of the 21st century that the necessary funds were obtained. Life came back to the Old Market. It is used in accordance with its original purpose and is full of life again. Various cultural events are also held here.
