Bratislava City Museum
Local name: Múzeum mesta Bratislavy
The Museum of the City of Bratislava is a cultural institution consisting of 11 branches scattered throughout the city. They are located primarily in historic tenement houses, but the museum also looks after the Castle in Devina or the archeological site in Rusovce. The headquarters of the institution is the Old Town Hall on the Bratislava Square.
The City Hall has an exhibition of the City History Museum. It is devoted primarily to the history of the city's inhabitants against the backdrop of historical events. They cover the period from prehistoric times to the end of the 1930s. The museum guides visitors through the changing city streets, shows the objects and costumes used by residents, and indicates the most important documents about the city. The exhibition is complemented by touch screens that help to move the imagination into the atmosphere of the era.
