Birds bastion
Local name: Vtáčia bašta
Bird Tower is part of the preserved parts of the city walls of Bratislava. It is a small, semi-circular building, looking as if glued to the fortification line. There is no roof today. In recent years, it has been subject to extensive conservation and archaeological research.
The tower was probably built in the fourteenth century. As one of two, it survived the process of demolishing the city walls. During the reconstruction work, stairs were installed, thanks to which one can enter the crown of the tower, which is a good viewpoint.
