Palić is a popular tourist destination near the Serbian-Hungarian border. Its biggest attraction is the large lake and the surrounding park with swimming pools and a zoo.
The town was founded in the 15th century, and 300 years later it began to gain popularity due to thermal springs discovered here. They are still used today in a small bathing beach, where you can take advantage of the warm pools and several water attractions.
In the nineteenth century, Palić was already well known in the Balkans and attracted lovers of rest. From this period comes the most beautiful part of its buildings with Art Nouveau villas and houses in which architecture combine classical elements and traditional Balkan designs.
The biggest attraction of the village is a large, natural lake, whose waters warm up in summer to a temperature of about 25 degrees Celsius. Mud extracted from its bottom is used for therapeutic and rejuvenating treatments.
Around the lake there is an extensive park with walking paths, a boat dock, bird-watching platforms and the most famous zoo in Serbia, where animals live on semi-open runs, not in cages.
