Local name: Terza Torre (Il Montale)
The tower is located on the lowest summit of Monte Titano rising above the historic buildings of San Marino. It was built in the fourteenth century as part of the city's defense system, and today it is its symbol and together with La Fratta and Guaita is in the coat of arms and flag of San Marino.
