The Holy Cross Monastery in Oradea is an Orthodox nunnery founded in 1992. It houses an icon painting workshop on canvas and wood, as well as a tailor and embroidery workshop where decorative priestly vestments are made. In 2013, 75 sisters lived in the convent.
There are two churches within the monastery complex. The first is a wooden church from the beginning of the 17th century, transferred here entirely from the town of Corbesti, which saved it from destruction.
The main monastery temple was built in the 1990s. It is 33 meters long, 12 meters wide and 3 meters high. It was built on a triangular plan in the Moldavian style, which distinguishes it from other churches in Transylvania. Both its internal and external walls are entirely covered with paintings in the Byzantine style.
