Galata Monastery is a Romanian Orthodox nunnery located in the town of Iasi. It was established at the end of the 16th century on the initiative of Piotr Kulawy from Moldova. The monastery complex includes a 16th-century church, a defensive wall with loopholes, a belfry and a prince's palace from the first half of the 18th century.
The monastic church represents a characteristic Moldavian style with elements of Wallachian art. The latter are especially visible in the triple windows in the side apses and the method of decorating the external walls, which are decorated with multicolored bricks and ceramic tiles.
In 1762, the temple was destroyed by a fire. Of the internal decorations, only the votive painting on the northern wall of the nave has survived. It shows the founder of the temple and his family, giving Christ a model of the church.
