The neoclassical church, the first of Porto, was built from 1692 under the direction of Italian Luigi Chiari, which explains the influence of the classic Italian style. Currently, you can still see the underground cemetery and catacombs used by the Franciscans to bury members of the brotherhood until November 1845.
