Archaeological Museum of the Castle of São Jorge

The museum is located in the basement of the Castle of St. George and being the result of comprehensive archaeological work conducted here since 1996. During them, further layers of Lisbon buildings from the period up to the Iron Age were exposed to the great earthquake of the mid-eighteenth century. In the museum you can see both the remains of former buildings located there , among others from the times of Arab rule, as well as ceramics, weapons, tools, jewelry and architectural elements discovered during excavations.
