The National Museum of Natural History and Science deals with the presentation of collections in the field of zoology, botany, anthropology and geology. It works in conjunction with the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory and the Botanical Garden. His collections include, among others, fossils and minerals, herbaria, skeletons and animal models, as well as exhibits related to human prehistory.
The museum was founded in 2011 from the merger of the university's Science Museum and the National Museum of Natural History. There are collections collected over the last 250 years. They focus on the issues of the past of the world and life on Earth.
The exhibitions are arranged by theme. They relate to various manifestations of life on Earth and the geological past. You can follow the evolution of various life forms, learn about plants and animals characteristic of different climate zones, or learn about prehistoric finds from Portugal.
