The Costume Museum is located in the 18th century Angeja-Palmel Palace. It presents the fashion changes of various social groups from the time of the great earthquake in 1755 to the present day.
The museum has in its collection original and reconstructed costumes used by representatives of various social groups of Lisbon since the 18th century. In addition to them, you can see accessories, jewelry, belts, handbags and even wigs. The second part of the exhibition is devoted to the textile industry, which has developed in Lisbon since the Middle Ages. Here you can see the elements of spinning machines, see images, photos and documents showing the work of textile factories.
