Estadio Jose Alvalade is the stadium of Sporting Lisbon. Located in the northern part of the city. It was built in its present shape for the European Football Championship in 2004. The stadium is connected by a shopping center. It is a wave-shaped structure, clad with azulejos-like tiles.
The stadium can seat over 50,000 spectators. It is one of the most modern in Portugal. It also has the highest class awarded by FIFA - five stars. The first match was played at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in 2003. Sporting beat Manchester United 3: 1 at the time, and Cristiano Ronaldo played in the home team.
Sporting Stadium has streamlined, wave-like shapes. It is kept in yellow-green tone. The facade was made of geometric tiles arranged in different patterns. The chairs in the stands also create a mosaic, although you can only admire it when the stadium is empty.
