Estrela Basilica

A huge baroque basilica dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is part of the Carmelite monastery. The church was erected from the foundation of Queen Maria as a votive offering for the birth of her son, Józef. The nave is covered with a high dome, and in the two-tower façade, saints can be seen. The interior is lined with plates of colored marble, which creates geometric patterns. The attraction of the church is a crib of cork and terracotta trees with more than 500 figures.
