Carvoeiro is a small resort located picturesquely on a cliff on the Algarve coast. It consists of low, colorful houses, and on the outskirts there are higher hotels and apartment buildings. The main attraction of the village is a sandy beach, sheltered from the winds.
Carvoeiro, like many villages in the Algarve, developed in the second half of the 20th century from a small fishing village. To this day, colorful fishing boats moor in the bay's waters, at the foot of the cliff, used both for fishing and for trips along the coast and fishing picnics. The buildings of the village look very picturesque over a rocky cliff with a nice view of the sea.
The resort has one, not very large beach hidden in a cove. It is developed and equipped with recreational equipment and water equipment rental. However, it is enough to drive a few kilometers from Carvoeiro to find more picturesque places of rest, often located in small bays sheltered from the wind and people's eyes.
