Benagil Caves are karst funnels that are located on the Algarve coast. As a result of the process of krasowania several caves were created, of which the most famous is Algar de Benagil. The unique cave has two entrances and a phenomenal small beach inside. The slump in her vault created a hole through which the sun's rays fall in. This effect enhances the unique experience. The cave is only accessible from the ocean.
The caves can be reached by speedboat or kayak. Trips are organized by the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. The most persistent may try to overcome this route swimming, because the nearby beach is only a few hundred meters away. The grotto can be admired at low tide, in low tide and in calm weather.
The other caves around Benagil are wells that can only be viewed from above.
