Praia de Benagil is a wonderful beach, whose small size fully compensates for the beautiful views. It is located between two stately golden cliffs, thanks to which it is not as windy as on other beaches on the Portuguese coast. The sand is fine and soft with a golden color.
The descent to the ocean is gentle. From the cliffs around the beach, where you can walk, there is a beautiful view of the countryside. In addition to sunbathing and water bathing, the beach is also used for fishing, usually there are several fishing boats. It is also possible to buy a ride on such a boat.
An additional attraction may be visiting the world of caves formed in the rocks near Lagoa from an ocean-side boat. One of the largest and most interesting caves in Lagoa is Aldar de Benagil. In her vault there is a lumen through which the rays of the sun fall in and the blue sky can be seen. In turn, Benagil is a small, charming fishing village, whose inhabitants have been living on fishing for centuries, and from tourism since the second half of the 20th century.
