The Museum of Western Mazovia in Żyrardów is located in the former house of the owner of Zakłady Żyrardowskie. The facility is mostly dedicated to the history of the city, textile industry Zakłady Żyrardowskie, and Masovia. There is also the gallery of works by the artist related to the region - Józef Rapacki.

The collection is divided into four sections and consists of 8600 exhibits. Most of them were donated by inhabitants, some were purchased. The most valuable items are photographs of workers of Zakłady Żyrardowskie, and paintings by Rapacki. The damages Zakłady suffered during the war are presented on 111 photographs. It is also worth to take a look at the panorama of Żyrardów from 1899. Permanent exhibitions include the izba of a family of working class from the 20th century, Rapacki's Gallery, and the recreated office of writer Paweł Hulka-Laskowski.

The object is surrounded by Karol Dittrich Landscape Park with the monumental forest stand. The museum organizes educational and painting workshops, photographic exhibitions, music concerts, and also theatrical performances.
