Orava Ethnographic Park

Park in Upper Zubrzyca is beautiful, picturesque spot at the foot of Babia and a team of open-air museums, showing the life and social cross-section of the region Orava. In the park you can visit the traditional huts, from the peasant houses of the nobility, as well as many examples of production buildings, as a smithy, a sawmill, or mill. The interiors of the buildings have traditional furnishings. The unique charm of this place lies not only in the reconstituted climate of the region, but also in the natural nature and picturesque landscapes. The history of the park-museum begins in 1937 from the family Moniak - mayors Orava, who donated his fortune to the museum purposes. Dating back to the seventeenth century manor house is the heart of the park, and the area is still expanded by joining new lands. As a result, the collection is one of the rural cottages located at the site of its original construction. A characteristic feature of Orava wooden buildings is called. booster, or superstructures a floor serving as a granary. On the first floor was built a special wooden galleries for drying linen.
